Southwest Airlines experienced a short computer outage Wednesday afternoon amid severe weather, resulting in delays and cancellations across the country. The outage, which began around 11:15 am ET, affected nearly half of the airline's flights, according to FlightAware. Southwest said it was working to resolve the issue and expected to resume normal operations as soon as possible. The outage also impacted Panama-based Copa Airlines, which said some of its flights might be delayed.

Budget carrier Southwest Airlines said it was not impacted by the outage.
