Aegon Targaryen: A History of Kings and Conquerors

Aegon I: The Conqueror

Aegon I Targaryen, also known as Aegon the Conqueror and Aegon the Dragon, was the first Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and king on the Iron Throne. He was the founder of the Targaryen dynasty and conquered Westeros with the help of his sisters and dragons, Viserys and Balerion.

Aegon's Legacy

Aegon's reign was marked by a number of important reforms, including the establishment of the King's Guard and the creation of the Small Council. He also appointed his sisters as Queens of the Seven Kingdoms, recognizing their role in his conquest.

Aegon II: The Elder

Aegon II Targaryen, also known as Aegon the Elder, was the sixth Targaryen king to sit the Iron Throne. He succeeded his father, Viserys I Targaryen, as Lord of the Seven Kingdoms.

The Dance of Dragons

Aegon II's reign was marked by the Dance of Dragons, a civil war that pitted him against his half-sister, Rhaenyra Targaryen. The war resulted in the death of both Aegon and Rhaenyra, and nearly led to the extinction of the Targaryen dynasty.

Aegon Targaryen (Prince)

Aegon Targaryen was the second child and only son of Prince Rhaegar Targaryen and Princess Elia Martell. He was the younger brother of Daenerys Targaryen.

Death of a Prince

Aegon was killed during the Sack of King's Landing by order of Gregor Clegane. His death marked a turning point in the story of Game of Thrones, and set the stage for the eventual rise of Daenerys Targaryen.
